The short version: BeamProfile earns commissions when you buy through links on this site. It costs you nothing extra. Rankings are decided before commissions are considered.

Amazon Associates Program

BeamProfile is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates. Certain content that appears on this site comes from Amazon. This content is provided "as is" and is subject to change or removal at any time.

What an affiliate link is

An affiliate link contains a tracking identifier. If you click one and then buy something, the retailer pays us a small percentage of the sale.

You pay exactly the same price. The commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not your wallet. It is not a surcharge, and using our links does not affect the price, availability, or your consumer rights in any way.

How to identify affiliate links here

Our editorial commitments

Affiliate revenue creates an obvious incentive problem: sites get paid more when you buy more expensive things. Here is how we handle that, stated so you can hold us to it.

  1. Rankings are set before commission rates are looked at. A higher-paying product does not move up a list.
  2. Cheaper products win when they deserve to. Our joint-top recommendation is a $30 flashlight that earns us very little.
  3. We publish negatives. Every review has a "where it falls down" section, and the accessories guide contains a section devoted to purchases you should skip.
  4. We say when we haven't tested something. Manufacturer-supplied specifications are labelled as such.
  5. Samples don't buy coverage. If a manufacturer provides a product, the page discloses it, and it changes nothing about the verdict.

Other affiliate relationships

Amazon Associates is currently the primary program used on this site. If we add others — direct manufacturer programs, other retailers, or an advertising network — this page will be updated to name them before those links appear.

Sponsored content

We do not currently publish sponsored posts, paid reviews, or paid placements in rankings. If that ever changes, such content will be clearly and prominently labelled as sponsored at the top of the page, and it will never appear inside a ranked list.

FTC compliance

This disclosure is provided in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR Part 255, "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising."
