The argument for a bad flashlight
Ninety lumens is not impressive. A modern phone torch does roughly the same, and the Streamlight ProTac 2L-X does five times more and holds it for hours.
The i3E's case rests on a different axis entirely: it's small and light enough that it never comes off your keys. Not "you intend to carry it." It is simply always present, because removing it would require a deliberate decision you'll never make.
Any flashlight comparison that only weighs output misses this. A 2,000-lumen light in a drawer produces zero lumens where you're standing. The i3E's specification that matters is presence, and on that measure it beats every other light on this site.

What 90 lumens is genuinely good for
Being clear about the ceiling is more useful than pretending there isn't one.
It works for: finding a keyhole, reading a restaurant menu, checking under a car seat, walking a lit street, finding the breaker switch, seeing into a bag, getting to the bathroom in an unfamiliar house without waking anyone.
It does not work for: lighting a trail, searching a yard, identifying anything past about fifteen metres, working outdoors, or any situation where you'd genuinely want a flashlight rather than merely find one convenient.
That's a backup light's job description, and the i3E does it honestly. Problems only start if you try to make it a primary.
Use lithium AAA batteries — this matters
The single most important thing in this review: put a lithium primary AAA in this light, not an alkaline.
A keychain light sits unused for months. Alkaline cells leak when they sit — it's not a manufacturing defect, it's how the chemistry ages — and a leaked cell corrodes the contacts inside a sealed aluminum tube. That kills the light permanently, and you'll discover it at the exact moment you need it.

Where it falls down
No low mode. This is the real limitation, and it's a design choice rather than an oversight. Ninety lumens straight into your retinas at 3 a.m. is genuinely unpleasant, and there's no way to avoid it. Lights like the Baton 4 start on moonlight for exactly this reason.
The twist interface is two-handed. Fine most of the time. Awkward when one hand is holding something, which is roughly half of the situations where you want a flashlight.
Keychains destroy things. The anodizing will scuff against keys within weeks. Cosmetic, but don't expect it to stay pretty.
